Woodchuck: The Bespoke Home of a Creative Couple in the Netherlands
Photography by Tinta Luhrman
We’re longtime admirers of Woodchuck, a small studio in the Netherlands by Tinta and Rutger Luhrman that produces minimalist, artful handcrafted wood furniture. Join us for a look at their lovely, work-in-progress home, in the town of Monster (near the Hague).
The compact three-story house is near the beach. A Woodchuck bench is placed near the entry, and the floors are painted a light gray.
A galley-esque kitchen is just off the entry.
Confirmation of their admiration for Japanese design: an impressive collection of brass Futagami objects.
Wooden countertop pockets along the wall store plates and cooking tools.
The dining room is anchored by a long table made by the couple.
Their dog, Paxi, lounges in a stream of sunshine.
On the second floor is a bathroom and their 9-year-old daughter’s room.
On the third floor of the home is the couple’s bedroom.
