The cabinet hardware is from the Pennington collection in matte black via Top Knobs. A striated marble backsplash—Bianco Carrara Lithoverde from Stone Source—adds subtle texture. Custom walnut shelving beside the oven transforms an awkward nook into a compact bar. With a wall removed, the kitchen now leads directly into the dining room. The center island has storage on three sides. The dining room’s large windows carry light into the kitchen beyond. The Modo Pendant from Roll & Hill adds a touch of glam, and a ceramic bowl echoes the black-and-white motif. The living room with French doors leading to the pool is the most colorful space in the house. The couple’s eclectic, edgy finds in black and gold. Prints by artist Lora Zombie, part of the couple’s art collection, hang above Brendan’s upright piano. In shades of gray, the master bedroom is a softer version of black and white. A dark gray headboard adds drama. The long pillow is Drost’s own design, made from vintage fabric. Materia Designs’ industrial-glam Fulcrum Sconce hang on either side of the bed. Drost chose lights from Oregon-based company Cedar & Moss and custom American walnut credenzas for each of the bathrooms. A slab of Gioia Venatino marble from Stone Source makes use of an unusual angle in the bath. Thanks to a glass shower wall and floor tiling that continues from floor into shower, an efficient guest bath feels expansive. Sarah and Bogart the dog in the entryway.
