The New Wave: An At-Home Showroom Concept in the West Village
Photography by Sean Davidson
French-born, NYC-based architect Olivier Garcé emailed us recently to let us know about his “pandemic lockdown project,” an apartment-as-gallery collaboration with furniture designer Ian Felton. The location? Garcé’s own light-flooded third-floor apartment in a West Village prewar brownstone. Take a look:
Ian Felton’s glazed lava stone Sacha Coffee Table is flanked by his glazed lava stone Kosa Side Chair and a 1930s Lovö rocking chair by Swedish designer Axel Einar Hjorth.
A Green River Project Half Moon Stool with raffia seat in a corner of the living room.
A selection of ceramic pieces bathed in sunlight.
The 1950s ceramic and fiberglass floor lamp by Mitchell Bobrick is from R & Company.
The pendant lamp is by midcentury Swedish designer Carl-Axel Acking.
