Statement Shower Curtains from Quiet Town (Plus Glamorous Hooks) - Remodelista

It was in the silence of the night, as she was trying to get her young son to sleep, that Lisa Fine hatched the idea for Quiet Town.
Inspired by “a simple horizon line” (and with a nod to Martin Margiela’s white on off-white designs), The Orient, $148, is one of Quiet Town’s several shower curtain patterns.

Quiet Town’s cotton mats are handwoven by a GOTS-certified, REACH-standard workshop in India using kilim techniques and needn’t be only used in the bathroom.

Made of 10-ounce Indian organic cotton canvas that’s dyed in small batches in New Jersey, the curtains are stitched in Brooklyn using denim hemming on both interior and exterior.

Lisa worked with Seattle jewelry designer Cat McCadden to come up with Quiet Town’s Acadia S Hooks, in solid brass (shown) and stainless steel, both $52 for a set of 12.
The American quilt-inspired Narlai—named for the town in Rajasthan, India, where they spent their honeymoon—is stitched rather than printed.
The Narlai comes in five color combinations, including Mint.
The couple say they hope their designs capture “that buzzy, freeing feeling you get from bathing in an outdoor shower.” They’ve also begun to offer a range of clear vinyl shower curtains of “safe, non-chlorinated EVA”: for a sampling, see Radical Transparency.
