Remodelista: The Low-Impact Home: A Sourcebook for Stylish, Eco-Conscious Living is finally, officially in bookstores. Our goal was to pack the book with both design inspiration and approachable tips for how to live well while treading lightly on this planet. Whether you’re looking to spruce up your rooms in an eco-conscious way, or embarking on a remodel or build, you’ll find much to take away from The Low-Impact Home. Take a look:

A salvaged sink and a drying rack set in a former doorway in the rescued 1840s house of John Baker and Juli Daoust, proprietors of Mölk in Toronto.

You’ll find room-by-room chapters in which we offer ideas on how to greenify the kitchen, laundry, bathroom, bedroom, and more.

The featured houses span the globe—from a UK farmhouse made of hemp (shown above) to a family’s communal compound in California.

We’ve also assembled tool kits featuring eco-friendly selections for the most important rooms in the house.

A child’s bedroom in the Catskills, New York, home of furniture designer Brian Persico, who built everything, house included, himself.

A compact spa bath in Brooklyn offers a wealth of ideas for using foraged and recycled materials.
