Object of Desire: John Pawson's Minimalist Oil Lantern for Wastberg - Remodelista
We’re longtime fans of John Pawson, so when we learned he had designed an oil lamp for another favorite–Swedish lighting company Wastberg—we took note.
Wastberg is exploring the idea of nonelectric lighting in its Holocene collection; Pawson’s design is the fourth in the series (we’ve previously posted on Ilse Crawford’s Holocene No.
The Holocene No.4 is made from stainless steel and aluminum and has a matte exterior drum and a polished interior core.
According to Wastberg, the lantern is “crucible-like in profile” with a convenient carrying handle.
The lantern is especially appealing in multiples.
4 is €349 from Wastberg and is available as of December 1.
