Swedish hotelier Nobis Group (you may recognize their work from Nobis Hotel Copenhagen) have renovated a former girls’ school in an Art Nouveau building, transforming it into Stockholm’s must-visit hotel.
The original 1910 building was designed by Swedish architects Hagström & Ekman; the more recent renovations were carried out by award winning architect Gert Wingårdh. An elegant valet perched at the bottom of the bed is made from bentwood and echoes the form of a Thonet chair.
A sculptural “type-objet” Lampe Gras lamp is wall mounted as a bedside lamp.
The building retains its original Art Nouveau arched windows.
Sculptural brass hooks mounted on wood panels created attractive open storage.

A warm and sophisticated bath.
An open metal stair rail with a distinctive Art Nouveau pattern is decorative as well as functional.
A row of cut-glass pendants hang over the reception desk.
The hotel restaurant is illuminated by a metal framework of cut-glass pendant lights.
Floor-to-ceiling curtains add warmth and texture to the space.
