Made in Spain: 8 Around-the-House Essentials from Real Fábrica Española - Remodelista
Nearly all the made-in-Spain offerings from Real Fábrica Española. The retailer has a brick-and-mortar shop in Madrid’s Literary Quarter and ships to nearly all of Europe (though we’re hoping they’ll soon expand their reach). The shop carries an array of mohair scarves, woven in Rioja “by the expert hands of Ezcaray artisans” (read more about Ezcaray, around since the 1930s, here.) The Pearl Grey Mohair Scarf, just one of many colorways, is €71.90 from Real Fábrica Española. “Boring tables are now a thing of the past,” according to the retailer: The Set of Six Fajalauza Ceramic Plates (€143.40) is “made by artisans in the Albaicín district of Granada, where the style has been made for more than six centuries. The Classic Oil Can is €7.90. Simple babutxes house slippers have been made by hand in Mallorca since the 1960s. An excellent alternative to disposable paper towels: These Small Blue Napkins are made from recycled cotton and come in perforated rolls; according to the shop, “they can be washed in the washing machine and last approximately up to six washes.” (Avoid the dryer for best results.) The small blue roll is €18.90; the napkins also come in white and dark green. The shop also carries a variety of Spanish grocery and self-care goods, all in pretty packaging. “If La Rioja can boast of anything, it is its extra soft blankets, which since the 1930s have covered all the lucky ones who have one,” according to the retailer.
