Not everyone wants a huge kitchen with fancy equipment and built-in everything. Take the owners of this Victorian home in London, spotted via The Modern House. According to designer Adam Bray, the clients wanted a kitchen with personality and “a feeling of not being too ‘fitted.'” Take a look:

The palette is bold, with red being a dominant theme throughout.

A marble countertop with integrated drainboard removes the need for a clunky dish rack in a small space.

In lieu of a pantry closet or more built-in cabinets, the clients opted for a vintage armoire to store larder essentials.

The south-facing room is small, but a pair of Crittall steel doors leading to the patio helps bring in light.

The view from the patio toward the kitchen, which is a new extension to the original home.
