At Círculo Mexicano, a new boutique hotel in Mexico City, a grand 19th-century building has been given a spare and luminous interior courtesy of Ambrosi | Etchegaray architecture studio, who designed Shaker-inspired rooms featuring materials crafted by local artisans.  Take a look.

Shaker-inspired furnishings complement the cool stone floors and walls.

The bedding is made of textiles hand-stitched by local Oaxacan artisans using natural, neutral-toned fibers.

In the Deluxe Room, the bed platform and side table are made from granite blocks that blend into the floors and walls.

Exposed brick in the barrel-vaulted ceilings serves as a reminder of the building’s history.

Shaker peg rails are used to hang mirrors, trinket boxes, and even furniture.

Candles fill the boxes hanging from the peg rails.

Many rooms feature skylit patios.

The hotel’s rooftop pool and bar provide panoramic views of the capital.
