Expert Advice: Proper Bed-Making 101, How to Make Square Corners, Step by Step - Remodelista
We at Remodelista are on a mission to resurrect the lost art of the well-made bed. My grandfather, a WWII vet, taught me all I know about bed-making, including proper square corners.
1. Position the sheet.
Make sure you have enough sheet at the top for a generous fold-down.
The top sheet is securely tucked in at the foot of the bed.
2. Tuck in the end at the foot of the bed so that it is tight and smooth.
Above L: The side of the bed after Step 2. Above R: After Step 3, with the side of the sheet lifted.
3. Grab the bottom edge of the sheet and fold it up.
Depending on how you’ve lifted the edge of the sheet, you will get either a more square or diagonal fold.
5. Fold over and tuck the top drape.
With their neat, clean lines, square corners make you look like a bed-making pro.
6. Repeat on the other side.
A side angle shows the crisp edge.
Now our properly sheeted bed is ready for blankets and pillows.
