DIY Idea: Colander as Light Fixture - Remodelista
What’s dome-shaped, perforated, and—surprisingly—makes a great light fixture?
With apertures to let the light through, the humble colander is primed to be repurposed.
The inspiration: In A Legendary Provincetown Artist’s Home, Updated for Modern Life, white enamel colanders are wired as light fixtures. Hire an electrician to hard-wire one; the perforations add graphic appeal when the light is off and cast patterns when it’s on.
