A while back, while photographing stylist Matthew Axe’s Astoria, Queens, apartment, Fan and I admired his collection of vintage Bauhaus area stackable dinnerware (genius, we thought!).

Axe is an avid collector of stackable TC100 tableware by Hans Roericht for Rosenthal and has amassed a formidable the collection over the years.

Designed by Hans (Nick) Roericht in 1959 as his thesis project at the HfG School of Design in Ulm, Germany, the collection was added to the permanent collection of the MoMA in New York and became the tableware used in the museum cafeteria.
