Bathroom of the Week: Two Bath Remodels with Bold Green Tile in Auckland - Remodelista
New Zealand designer Katie Lockhart first honed her skills as a stylist before starting her interior design business and founding shop Everyday Needs (where she also launched a paint line).

One such project is the renovation of two bathrooms in a midcentury farmhouse on the North Shore of Auckland with green Heath Ceramics tile, handmade storage cabinets, and matte white fixtures.
The owners of the house are opting to slowly restore it “sympathetically to its bones.” Lockhart and her team started the renovation with the bathrooms.
Bathroom One
The tile is Heath Ceramics 2-by-4-Inch Tiles in “Soapstone.” All wood elements—like the console and mirror shown here—were made with designer Grant Bailey in sustainable Iroko wood.
The faucet is the Dornbracht Tara Single Hole Lavatory Mixer with the Dornbracht Drain both in matte white.
The bath’s toilet is just beyond the half wall, and the shower—also fitted with Dornbracht Tara fixtures—is beyond that. The towel warmer is the DCS Modular Uno Round Rail in white.
Bathroom Two
The second bath is a variation on the green theme and has a different layout.
The custom medicine cabinet in Iroko wood was made with Grant Bailey.
The bath faucet is the Dornbracht Tara Trim Lavatory Mixer in matte white.
The custom bathtub was drawn up in Sketch Up to work out the dimensions before Grant Bailey built the base in plywood, which was then waterproofed and tiled.
