Bathroom of the Week: Rethinking Pink in an Australian WC
When I was a kid, our house had a suite of pastel pink bath fixtures: pink countertops, pink shell-shaped sinks, pink shower, pink toilet. If only it had looked as romantic and sophisticated as this rosy WC by Australia-based designer Tamsin Johnson (one of our 20 Tastemakers to Watch in 2023).

The WC is located in a home Tamsin took on in 2022 in Darling Point, a suburb of Sydney.
The antique French wall sconces with fluted glass were reclaimed from a a restaurant, Tamsin says; now, they flank the entry to the bath.
The bath is enveloped in pink: It’s Venetian plaster with a gloss finish for easier cleaning.
The sink is an 18th-century Italian vanity, tiled around the base to blend seamlessly with the floor.
Green adds earthy contrast to the otherwise rosy space: The freestanding bath is from Water Monopoly.
Elsewhere, the tile material from the bath continues around the perimeter in a seating nook.
