Aire Lighting: Fixtures Inspired by Old Ireland - Remodelista
Spotted recently: industrial-style lighting from a manufacturer in a small town near the Northern Irish border.
The designs are currently only available via German-based sites Casa Lumi (for the interior collection) and Terra Lumi (for exterior lights), but we think it might be worth a trip to the Emerald Isle for further investigation.
A simple silhouette: The Waterproof Ceiling Lamp has a glass bulb cover and is available in six finishes (including matte black, shown); €175 ($210.58).
The Simple Ceiling Light with Flat Shade is available in four finishes—patinated brass, patinated silver, polished brass, and satin brass; €88 ($105.89).
The Small Handmade Brass Pendulum Lamp is also well-patinated and “gives a pleasant, warm, well-shielded light;” €138 ($166.06).
One of many designs with traditional glass: the Wall Light with Prismatic Glass is affixed to the wall with a small hook and chain; €150 ($180.50).
We particularly like the vintage-style Timeless Glass Globe Ceiling Light, which comes in three sizes (20 centimeters, 25 centimeters, and 30 centimeters in diameter) and six finishes; from €94 ($113.11).
An upgrade to the simple ceiling fixture: the aptly-named Simple but Elegant Brass Reflector Ceiling Light; €138 ($166.06).
The domed Industrial Ceiling Light, inspired by the “functional design of traditional industrial luminaires”; €139 ($167.26).
We like the sculptural shape of the handmade Simple Pendant Light, shown here in patinated silver; €306, or $366.02.
The Flat Industrial Ceiling Light has a vaulted shade, available in four finishes; €149 ($179.30).
The Rustic Brass Spotlight evokes old Ireland; €88, or $105.26.
The Functional Joint Wall Light can be used as a wall or ceiling spotlight, the makers say; €138, or $165.07.
The Large Ship Pendant is hand-made of pressed aluminum and conjures maritime style; is can also be positioned to the side and comes with a hand-twisted textile cable; €1,975, or $2362.38.
