A Stone Farmhouse in France, Redone by Studio Maclean

Back in 2003, London-based interior designer Jason Maclean and his business partner, Amanda Gillis, purchased an 1850s stone farm that was in a state of ruin. Located in the southwest of France, it came with a houseful of restorable original features. Maclean and a group of handy friends moved to France for a few months and worked seven days a week until the job was complete; take a look.

Maclean and a friend built the walls and steps of the kitchen courtyard from stones gathered on the property.

The granary attic turned living room loft "can only be accessed from a staircase hidden in a kitchen cupboard,” says Maclean.

The kitchen features Tisettanta’s Elam kitchen system cabinets with stainless steel counters.

The cabinets are painted Dulux’s Pebble Mosaic.
