From rooms saturated in color to hand-drawn designs and consumable decor, here are just a few trends we’re tracking this fall.

1. All-over wood paneling: We noted the first inklings of the return of retro wood paneling way back in 2021—but the resurgence is now in full swing.

2. Hand-drawn details: Hand-drawn murals are taking over, like these mini frescoes by artist Franck Lebraly at Hotel Le Sud in France.

3. Maximalism makes a comeback: We’ve heard talk of “minimalism fatigue”, and color and pattern are back in a big way.

4. Cohesive baths: We're tracking walls, sinks, counters, and surrounds all in the same finish, hue, or tile.

5. Cool composting: “Composting is an essential kitchen task,” writes Alexa—and companies have caught up with attractive compost buckets.
