MoMA Exclusive: Return of a design classic! Stacking Dinnerware was designed in 1964 by Massimo and Lella Vignelli and this multi-colored Rainbow version of the set was introduced by the Vignellis and the manufacturer Heller in 1971. Made to bring everyday delight and to last for years to come, these durable melamine designs, each in a different color of rainbow, stack up to create an eye-popping display that resembles an art object. A set of monochromatic Vignelli Stacking Dinnerware from 1964 is represented in MoMA’s collection.
