Drawn to the precise forms of Japanese architecture, designer Giorgio Biscaro found a sacred source of inspiration in his recent travels. “In my trip to Japan, I was fascinated by Torii, high portals at shrines where all parts have a specific physical and spiritual meaning,” he says. Like a Japanese Torii, the individual elements of this chair relate together as a single holistic structure. Crafted of solid beech wood painted matte white, this design also angles a modern interpretation of a Windsor chair.
