Tokoname Suribachi & Surikogi Set
Located in Tokoname in Aichi Prefecture , Daisuke Tomimoto delivers a modern take on traditional Japanese cookware: TOKONAME Suribachi (mortar). Tokoname is known for its high level of ceramic wares from the region and Tomimoto’s hand-made creations are both beautiful and functional. Suribachi & Surikogi are traditional Japanese mortar & pestle and you can use it for grinding sesame seeds, nuts, and spices. You can even grind and mix ingredients in the mortar to create dipping pastes. Because this mortar is so beautiful, once you’ve mixed your sauce, it can double as a serving dish. This mortar comes with Surikogi (pestle) which is made of Japanese Chestnut wood.
