Antique Thonet Model #10 Bentwood Rocking Chair; Salvatore Leone, circa 1890s
This design, the Thonet Model #10, is an iconic curvilinear rocking chair first conceived by the prolific Michael Thonet in the mid/late 19th century. Thonet efficiently outsourced production of many of his designs throughout the 19th and 20th century, this particular example was executed by Salvatore Leone, a Modena, Italy based master cabinetmaker, around the 1890s. All original antique condition, caning nearly perfectly preserved.
