Aran Rug is a rug made of texelaar and wool. Texelaar pouf and rugs designed by Christien Meindertsma are wound entirely from a continuous piece of yarn from sheep on Texel island in the Netherlands. For the rug needle size 26 is used for knitting. The rug is available in four colors: gray, light gray, brown and white.
After finishing the Design Academy Eindhoven in 2003, Christien Meindertsma started her own design label flocks. With her projects ‘checked baggage’ (2003), ‘urchin poufs’ and ‘pig 05049’ (2008), she made here break through in the international design field.
These projects has been exhibited all over the world and part of her work is included in the permanent collection of the Victoria & Albert museum London, MOMA new york and textiel museum Tilburg.
