ҬThe Good Shepherd was founded by Emily Watts, a recent graduate from the RCA specializing in Knitted Textiles. During her time at the RCA she was asked to look at what she thought the future would hold for textiles; this project served as a catalyst for her passion to produce a fabric that was British through and through. Working closely with the British Wool Marketing Board over a period of two years she developed relationships with suppliers most particularly up in Shetland where the cottage industry still thrives and the journey of the yarn from field to factory is in plain sight. Her aim was to create British products that were both luxurious and modern; combining traditional Shetland yarns with the slick and manmade resulting in a new way to look upon tradition and reflecting the modern landscape of Shetland: industrialism alongside nature. All of her pieces are made from 100% British Wool in London, and are hand made or hand knitted. This is her first range of home textiles.
