As a skilled silversmith In 1923 Wilhelm Wagenfeld came as a student to the Bauhaus, where he later was even head of the metal workshop and – in contrast to many of the other at the Bauhaus, – even after 1933, as industrial designer was unable to continue his work. For him was the best property of an object “the undemanding”, to which everyday objects, the useful, cheap and at the same time attractive, are meant.
The draft of the tea set comes from the 1933 and is considered to be one of Wagenfeld's most important work.
