Description from Quitokeeto
This is a knife with a point of view, and each hand-forged Gyuto NAS has huge amounts of the master blacksmith Shosui Takeda’s personality worked into it. If you’re looking for a serious, professional, multi-purpose Japanese knife, this is it. A best-seller, it is hyper-thin and light (in contrast to it’s length and profile). The 10-inch blade has impressive food release as you’re chopping, and is long enough to take on larger ingredients. We also stock the nakiri (multi-purpose/vegetable), and a mini petit (paring), as well as a set. If you already have the nakiri, for reference, this is a substantially longer knife, and weighs just a shade more.
Takeda Hamono is a third generation factory of blacksmiths, with roots going back to the 1920s. We love Takeda Hamono knives, and took it as a good sign that the maker’s mark includes a friendly heart stamped along the blade. The Takeda arrives from the factory “wow” sharp, and with the occasional visit to your sharpening stone this is a knife that is pure pleasure to use.
The Takeda Hamono gyuto ships in a gift-worthy box, with the blade wrapped in Japanese paper.
