Steelwood Table
The beauty of Steelwood is in the way it combines the warmth of wood with the strength and durability of steel. This was central to the challenge given to the Bouroullec brothers at the beginning of this project. This combination is tricky. Most furniture that uses these materials in combination tries to make the wood look like steel or the steel like wood. Steelwood does the opposite, highlighting the differences in material, in a warm, more domestic, and friendly style.
Legs and crosspieces are solid beech, with resin-painted steel joints. Tops are made from a durable white laminate.
