Hand painted ceramic vessel from English artist Sophie Wilson. These new works for Nickey Kehoe are inspired by the ceramic objects of Matisse’s paintings — the vases, jugs, bowls and everyday objet that often line the background of the artist’s works. Wilson brings these painted vessels into new form through her ceramic practice. Each vessel embodies the same painterly feel and fluid energy of the artist’s brushstroke.
Each vessel is hand formed and painted by Wilson, resulting in a beautiful variance of color, placement, glazing and form.
