Description from Egon Eiermann
The SE 68 Egon Eiermann chair remains a unique classic among multi-purpose chairs in terms of its minimalist design as well as its seating comfort. Combining a tubular steel frame with an “organically”-shaped seat and a backrest made of bentwood, the SE 68 has had a lasting stylistic influence.
Egon Eiermann aspired to give furniture “a human dimension” – and anyone who has ever sat on an SE 68 knows that this self-professed perfectionist satisfied his own demands entirely in the form of this trendsetter.
Now Egon Eiermann meets Le Corbusier: four variants of the classic (SE 68 multi-purpose chair, SE 68 SU stackable multi-purpose chair, SBG 197 R swivel chair, SE 42 three-legged bentwood chair) are presented in four colours by Les Couleurs® Le Corbusier. Three of the colours have already been decided upon: ombre naturelle 31 (32140), vert anglais clair (32041) and bleu céruléen 59 (4320N).
These colourful chairs will be available as of January. A high-quality label featuring Le Corbusier’s signature and a number on the underside of the chair highlight this unique collaboration between Egon Eiermann and Le Corbusier.
On request, each buyer receives an authenticity certificate from Les Couleurs® Le Corbusier.
