Description from Rikumo
Sasawashi is a revolutionary, all-natural fabric that blends the naturally absorbent properties of washi paper with the comfort of cotton fibers. This innovative, superlight material allows air to circulate throughout the fibers and easily absorb moisture. The result is a crisp, breathable pillow cover that keeps your pillow cool and refreshing throughout the night.
In contrast to makers who use chemical finishes to keep bed sheets shrink and wrinkle-free, no chemicals are used in the production of Sasawashi bedsheets. Instead, antibacterial kumazasa plant fibers keep sweat from breaking down the fibers, making Sasawashi a premium textile that only gets better with age.
About Sasawashi
Sasawashi is a highly functional fabric made from Japanese washi paper, a hand-made and breathable natural material. Softwood pulp and hemp are combined with kumazasa flakes, a naturally antimicrobial plant found in the highlands of Japan. The resulting paper is slitted, twisted into threads and woven into a strong, durable fabric that wicks away sweat and keeps you comfortable in any temperature.
