Prior to attending the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD), Pete Oyler studied woodworking at the Penland School of Arts and Crafts, in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina. Pete met and developed lasting relationships with artists and craftspeople across all mediums. Sculptor and glass blower Ben Wright was one of these people. Designing with hand blown glass in mind, Pete called on Ben to blow shades for the Right Lamp. A gentle fusion of hand-blown glass and blackened steel, the Right Lamp – equipped with an Edison Bulb – is both completely contemporary and recalls a time of low lights and post by horse. It’s just right.
