These rattan hangers are hand made by craftsmen in Yamagata that has been in business since Meiji 40 (1907).
After steaming the rattan, the craftsmen slowly bend it to the shape by adding more heat. This technique has been the same since they found the business. Even the joints are dyed rattan. To keep the natural look, these hangers are not finished or coated.
