Appearing to tremble, the surface of the quake pendant lamps face creates an elegant and captivating effect. The wide shallow surface allows for full appreciation of the pendants three timber options natural beauty and character. Hand turned in cornwall from solid hardwoods, quake pendants hang elegantly, and the hand gouged rim captivatingly catches the light, accentuating the intriguing texture of the lamp.
Quake pendants are inspired by carved rim fruit bowls, which we have made and sold lots of, and always enjoy making. we caught the light bouncing of the hundreds of tiny gouges of one of our bowls rim one day, and immediately recognised the potential for a beautiful lighting design. turned from a lamination of several pieces of sustainably , and whenever possible locally sourced hardwood, quake pendants are wide, shallow and elegant. The lights face is adorned with hundreds of tiny radiating gouges, each hand cut, and providing an intriguing contrast against the beautiful satin finish of the rest of the body.
Quake pendants look great on their own, hung low over coffee, or side tables, or creating mood lighting. The timber option of a pale sycamore, warm oak, and dark walnut allow quake’s to be at home in most environments. However we feel that quake’s come into their own when hung in a run’s. wether it be along a dining or conference table, lighting a bar, or seating area, quake pendants elegant form, and intriguing details command an elegant, contemporary and quality presence.
