Our Pietrasanta mortar and pestle sets are hand finished by Umbrian master carvers. Each mortar is a distinct expression of the artist’s hand, and a composition of veins through marble. Decorative and functional, they are a unique take on traditional form. Ideal for blending herbs and spices, aioli and pesto.

These hand-carved mortar and pestle sets are the work of an Umbrian based artisan who seeks out unique fragments of statue-grade Carrara marble to create objects of exceptional quality and beauty. Subtly sculptural, each piece reflects the expression of the artist’s hand.
