Description from Design Within Reach
David Weeks graduated from Rhode Island School of Design, where he studied painting and sculpture. Early in his career, his lighting was noticed by Ralph Pucci, who pushed him to keep working with evocative materials. Since then, Weeks has designed award-winning lighting, furniture and retail projects for Barneys, Kate Spade, W Hotels and, of course, Design Within Reach. In 2003, he was featured in Cooper-Hewitt’s National Design Triennial: Inside Design Now, in which his work was described as “evoking the organic modernism of Charles and Ray Eames.” Weeks designed the Pearson (2012) just for us, optimizing the ubiquitous clip lamp to have a more considered profile and interesting mix of materials. Bulb (not included): incandescent 40W. Made in Denmark.
