Palomita, our hand-loomed bouclé pile rugs, are hand-woven in Mexico with 100% virgin earth friendly wool in a chunky, plush style reminiscent of 1960″²s textile art. For being such a traditional item, these stunning rugs look very modern in a room and compliment many different architectural and design aesthetics. They are fantastic statement pieces that work in any setting and can look stunning in anything from a posh contemporary living room, a shabby chic country home or even a little children’s room.
The artisan who weaves these rugs, cleans, spins and dyes his own wool and therefore he is able to attain this interesting and beautiful one-of-a-kind hand made texture. They are also very earth friendly since the wool is hand processed and making them uses no electricity. The wool is spun on an ancient spinning wheel and the giant antique wooden loom used to create these works of art is also human powered.
