A pair of folded paper ornaments made from Hyancith paper with cotton string. An ingenius design where the ornament unfurls and joins with magnets concealed at both ends; at the end of the season store the decoration away flat for use again next year. Both the paper and the decoration itself is made by women artisans at a fair trade workshop in Bangladesh. Hyancith is a water flower which grows profusely, clogging waterways and becoming a nuisance to village infrastructure. The flowers are harvested and made into paper for crafts and stationery. Sold as a pair, with one red and one green.
