8knots Oranges de Tamanu soaps are handcrafted in small-batch production – using only pure, natural, and certified organic ingredients, free of synthetic fragrances, colors or foaming boosters. Rich lathering, it is a wonderful body cleansing soap, also good for shaving. Sea salt adds restorative, naturally antiseptic and exfoliating properties for the skin. Sweet Orange essential oil constitutes the key fragrance note, evoking the name Oranges de Tamanu. Each year in June, skilled Tahitian fruit-pickers climb Tahiti’s Tamanu Plateau, where wild oranges grow in profusion. Clad in pareos and flower leis, they carry down from the plateau, nets full of freshly picked sweet oranges. Packaged in a foil standup, ziplock pouch which makes a convenient travel pack / soap dish. Note that the package is not sealed, so can be opened and re-zipped without damaging the package. To preserve freshness before use, soap bar comes shrink-wrapped in biodegradable, compostable film (remove before use). Each soap comes with a 2-foot length of high quality marine cordage to make it a soap-on-a-rope. Designed for marine use, the cord will not rot or mildew, making it perfect for salt water activities.
