Product Information
Next time you pack up the car for a night under the stars, don’t forget your cast iron. This particular press is designed to make classic, over-sized waffles over a camp stove, grill, or even your home burner. Making waffles six inches in diameter requires heavy duty cast iron that, when treated right, will last the rest of your life. Whether you’re making a campsite breakfast or taking out burglars, this is the cast iron creation you need.

The waffle iron is coated with a thin layer of paraffin wax to prevent rusting. To remove coating, wash the cooler thoroughly with soap and hot water.
Season by coating the iron inside and out with a quality vegetable oil or solid shortening (do not use butter or olive oil). Unhinge the iron and place in an oven preheated to 350°. Bake for one hour, then turn off the oven and let the cast iron cool slowly in the oven before removing.
After each use, clean your waffle iron with hot water and a soft brush or sponge. Expect cast iron to become darker with repeated usage; this shows that it is becoming well seasoned. Dry completely with a towel after cleaning and apply a light coating of cooking oil to prevent rust from developing during storage.
