Product Information
A collection of modern furniture inspired by traditional Shaker cotton tape chairs designed in collaboration with San Francisco-based Oja Design. Settling in New England in 1774, the Shakers hand-constructed and designed their homes with great intention. Rooms were multi-purpose, kitchens and dining areas were communal, and furniture was built to last. For chair making, the Shakers preferred using fabric tape, because unlike rush, wood splint, or cane, tape does not dry out or pinch and snag clothing.
