Nils Thorsson’s Baca series vase for Royal Copenhagen
Baca series earthenware vase, one of the last series designed by Nils Thorsson (1898-1975) for Aluminia and Royal Copenhagen. The word Baca means “ring,” which explains why the signature of each artist who created a set appears in a circle on the back of each piece in the series. Thus the decoration composed of plants and stylized birds of this vase, dated between 1969 and 1974, is due to Nils Thorsson.
