Description from The Line
Copenhagen-born Nanna Ditzel (1923-2005) trained as a cabinetmaker before entering the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, where she studied furniture design under the influential Kaare Klint. Her Nanny rocker is based on the concept of a chair without legs. Designed in 1969 for wicker maker R. Wengler, a pioneer in the production of rattan, it was reintroduced by Sika in 2013. The experimental and innovative chair, in black rattan with a luminous matte finish, is a triumph of form and function united by soft, organic curves.
