Description from Hive Modern
- Design Mogens Koch, 1932
- Solid wood, canvas or leather
- Made in Denmark by Carl Hansen & Son
Mogens Koch’s Folding chair was first designed in 1932 for a competition on church interiors. The design was not successful at this time as it was simply too radical. It was in 1960 when he displayed the chair again at the annual Carpenters guild exhibition in Copenhagen that the Folding chair was put into production.
The Folding chair is easy to store as it folds together completely which makes it ideal as an “add-on” chair for dining or lounge areas. The canvas cover is made of dyed natural linen. It is available in oil-treated beech or mahogany. The seat and backrest are available in natural colored canvas or Thor leather in 4 colors. The armrests are always made of natural full-grain butt leather.
Please note: the covers should never be machine washed or cleaned using water as this will make them soft which will weaken the chair. The chair is not for permanent outdoor use. It is possible to replace covers, arm straps and cushion.
