These miniature houses make people smile.

There’s something about the shape of a little house that strikes a cord in us – maybe it’s the memory of a past home, the dream of a future home, or the feeling of coming home to a house shared with family and friends. The desire for the security and comfort of a home is something we have in common with people the world over, and decorating our spaces with things that reflect our individual lives and loves brings even more meaning and joy to us.

As the solo maker, designer, wood worker, and painter, I take great care in making these small wooden houses, cutting the shapes, carefully sanding them, choosing the colours, and painting each one by hand to ensure they’re pleasing to the touch as well as the eyes.

These little painted houses, either singly or as a miniature village, will be a sweet addition to a window sill, a shelf, a fireplace mantle decoration, a book shelf, a kitchen island, or as the stars of a table arrangement. They would be great to cheer up a desk or work space as well.
