Mercury Glassware – Small Mercury Glass Candlesticks
Also known as 'poor man's silver', Mercury glassware is considered one of the first true 'art glass' types. Glass that was made for its inherent artistic value, rather than for utilitarian use. Mercury glass was made in Bohemia, England and the United States from the early 19th century until the 1930's The glass is blown double-walled and silvered internally. Our reproduction Mercury glass is made in the Czeh Republic.
