Description from Mourne Textiles
A fabric designed by Gerd Hay-Edie for Irish fashion designer Sybil Connolly’s 1956 Spring collection, Mourne’s Mended Tweed was a real talking point amongst the fashion elite.
An unusual weave, the cloth acquires it’s tactile, organic quality from ‘wild’ traditionally spun Pure Merino Donegal yarn. The Mended Tweed Grey Sampler was developed from sample warps created on the ‘Chinese loom’, producing a unique patchwork pattern.
