Description from Design Within Reach
“At the heart of this furniture collection for Knoll is my love for the land, which can be traced back to my childhood in the rolling hills of southeastern Ohio,” says designer Maya Lin. “It goes back to a childhood fascination we all have – that moment when you discover that the Earth is round, and you walk around trying to see that curve.” Her Stones Collection (1998) includes an elliptical Seat with a slightly concave top. Please note: The Stones made of recycled polyethylene will vary in color from Stone to Stone, and may have black specs on the surface; these are not defects. Lin came to international prominence with her award-winning design for the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C., which she designed as an undergraduate at Yale University. Made in U.S.A.
