In 2014 an updated version with stitching along the perimeter of the cushions celebrated the 40th anniversary of the Maralunga sofa, an international bestseller steeped in timeless beauty and functionality.

An international best-seller with warm and reassuring shapes, in which the possibility of movement of the backrest, the soft appearance and the padding enhance comfort, giving life to multiple interpretations. Subject of numerous imitations, Maralunga introduces the variation of the height of the headrest thanks to the insertion of a simple bicycle chain in the foam: an avant-garde construction mechanism patented by Cassina, which allows the immediate conversion of the backrest from low to high adjustment. In 2014, on the occasion of its first 40 years, the company made a further aesthetic review proposing the removable cover option for the fabric version and new details including the stitching that follows the perimeter profile to give a more modern taste to the design. The family includes the armchair, the pouf and the two or three seater sofas in different widths.
