Rolf Heide is a cabinetmaker, lighting designer, designer of exhibition stands and interior designer. The stacking bed he designed in 1967 – we distribute the original – is now considered a stroke of design genius: a simple, sturdy box frame made of plywood, a slatted frame and a mattress. It is the perfect guest bed: two stacked (non-slip) beds quickly become a comfortable double bed. We offer the stacking bed in two heights.
For 90 x 200 cm mattresses (in order to guarantee the stackability the mattress should not be higher than 10 cm – or 14 cm for the comfort model.
The bunk bed is delivered without a slatted frame, mattress, bolster or bed box.
The classic model measures: L 203 x W 93 x H 23 cm (The height of two stacked beds 40 cm). Weight 18 kg for one bed. The comfort model includes a bed frame in a 4 cm higher special construction. L 203.5 x B 93.5 x H 27.5 cm (The height of two stacked mattresses is 48 cm). Weight 19 kg.
