Description from Hawos
Product Information
Harvest when the vitality is at its highest! Just like in the garden soil, the seeds lie in hawos Toni and clay buckets: dark and moist. The baked clay can absorb 10 % of its weight in water and gradually pass it on to the seedlings. The vital substances multiply as in nature: the enzymes present in the seed are activated. Vitamins, ferments, proteins and carbohydrates are present in the greatest possible quantity when the sprouts begin to sprout.
Copied from nature: Sprouts and shoots in the ingenious clay bucket system – fresh on the table every day.
Material:
Natural clay from the Westerwald. It is fired at such a temperature that it becomes hard enough and yet remains open-pored. This allows the clay to absorb 10 % of its weight in water. The bottom bowls are coated with a lead-free glaze on the inside and are therefore waterproof.
Germination conditions in hawos germinators:
They are similar to the natural conditions in the soil. Good aeration is ensured by the pores of the clay, and the absorbency of the material ensures even moisture without the seeds lying in water.
The best results:
Only seeds from controlled organic cultivation should be used as they are not mixed with chemicals. Normal tap water is sufficient, but the best results are achieved with water that is free of nitrates and contains little lime (the lime could clog the pores in the long run).
